THE SETHITE VIEW

Today, we’re going to be dealing with a topic that is the cause of a lot of controversy & division within the Christian body —

The NEPHILIM VIEW vs. the SETHITE VIEW …

… stemming from two very different interpretations of GENESIS 6 –

The NEPHILIM view is the idea that the GIANTS in the Bible, like GOLIATH & KING OG …

… were the result of FALLEN ANGELS copulating with HUMAN WOMEN.

& they say this is where the GIANTS of the Bible …

… or the NEPHILIM (which comes from the Hebrew word NEPHIL) came from.

But I take the SETHITE VIEW …

& which says it’s not even possible for fallen angels to mate with human beings.

The Bible teaches that every creature, from man to beast reproduces after HIS KIND …

We this is in verses like Genesis 1:21, 24:
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

& God said the same thing to mankind:
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

[We were made in the image of God, and we produce offspring in our own image, which is in the image of God].

& so men can’t mate with angels any more than they can mate with animals.

We don’t have compatible seed.

It’s not biologically possible.

But the NEPHILIM position is that God brought about Noah’s flood …

… in order to destroy the HYBRID, DEMI-GOD OFFSPRING of FALLEN ANGELS & MEN.

But this is a completely contrary to the CORE STORY of GENESIS & the Bible.

But before we dive in deeper …

… let me say that no matter what you believe on this issue, it should not be cause for division amongst Christians …

… unless your views begin to infringe on the Gospel or the fundamentals of the faith.

But let’s begin with GENESIS 6:1-8, which begins the heart of the controversy:
1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

& this leads to the WORLDWIDE FLOOD, which was the direct result of man’s sin.

But those on the NEPHILIM SIDE, claim that the SONS OF GOD in Genesis 6 are FALLEN ANGELS …

& that the FALLEN ANGELS produced NEPHILIM offspring when they mated with the DAUGHTERS OF MEN (human women) …

But here’s the 1st point I’d like to make:

… We see in VERSE 4 that the Bible teaches that the GIANTS were ALREADY THERE & that they existed …

… before the SONS OF GOD took for wives from THE DAUGHTERS OF MEN.

Verse 4 says: There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men …

So they were ALREADY THERE before that union ever took place.

Notice also that the rest of that passage says: “and they bare children to them [children/not hybrids], the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”

So their offspring were clearly fully human.

& then notice that in v. 5, the Bible gives us the REASON FOR THE FLOOD:

And it’s NOT because of CORRUPT DNA.

5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

God was grieved at the whole creation …

… because of the “WICKEDNESS OF MAN” & because the IMAGINATION OF THE THOUGHTS of HIS HEART was only EVIL CONTINUALLY”.

Again, MAN is emphasized.

The reason that God flooded the EARTH is because MAN HAD BECOME WICKED …

… The problem with the NEPHILIM VIEW is that it changes the entire story of NOAH’S FLOOD …

… MAN IS NOT LONGER RESPONSIBLE for his WICKED ACTIONS …

… it’s all the fault of the FALLAN ANGELS & corrupt DNA.

The Nephilim theory is SCAPEGOAT for Man’s Wickedness.

And for not assigning responsibility to MAN.

Again in v. 11, it says:
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

[VIOLENCE WAS THE REASON FOR THE FLOOD].

Again, there are 2 stories being propogated here:

1. THE SETHITE VIEW says that God flooded the world because men had become WICKED & VIOLENCE had overtaken the EARTH.

That’s in alignment w/ the Bible.

2. THE NEPHILIM VIEW which says that God flooded the earth because fallen angels bred with human women.

& both can’t be right.

Now, the first thing that I tell people when I’m debating this topic with them …

… is to PROVE all your points strictly from the Bible.

… because people who cling to the NEPHILIM view, have a tendency to use EXTRA-BIBLICAL sources, like the BOOK OF ENOCH …

… or supposed HISTORICAL, ARCHEOLOGICAL FINDS …

… or my personal favorite, the HEBREW & GREEK LEXICON as a substitute for the Bible.

Now, it’s one thing to go to the original manuscripts of the Bible …

… if you’re an expert & fluent in GREEK & HEBREW …

… if you’re a native speaker and a scholar in these languages …

It’s another thing to go to a STRONG’s CONCORDANCE or to take 2 years of Greek in college …

And then begin correcting the revealed, English Bible.

– So the question is: where does this view come from?

A PART OF THE NEPHILIM DOCTRINE comes from the interpretion of the phrase, “SONS OF GOD” …

Genesis 6:2 says that: “… the sons of God saw the daughters of men …”

So who are the SONS OF GOD?

Biblically speaking, every time the word sons of God or children is used in the Bible …

… “sons of God” refers to saved believers, & never to angels.

But they interpret SONS OF GOD to mean ANGELS.

And that’s where the ERROR begins.

Hebrews 1:5-8:
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
…
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
…

So first and foremost Jesus is referred to as the SON OF GOD …

… and the angels are MINISTERING SPIRITS …

and verse 14 says: “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”

By extension it is only believers who are ever called SONS OF GOD … as the HEIRS OF SALVATION …

… This never applies to ANGELS, who are ministering spirits …

… NOT MADE in the IMAGE OF GOD.

Galatians 3:26 says: “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

Only humans can be sons of God, because we’re made in the image of God & adopted as children by faith in Christ.

Again, Angels are not made in the image of God and so are never called the Sons of God.

John 1:12 says: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

Romans 8:14: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

HOW DOES THE OLD TESTAMENT define “SONS OF GOD”?

Hosea 1:10 says: “… and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.”

Psalm 82:6 also says: “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”

So, again, saved believers are called the “SONS OF GOD”, even in the Old Testament.

But we never see this of the ANGELS.

IF YOU LOOK UP THE PHRASE: “ANGEL OF THE LORD”, you’ll see that it’s used repeatedly in GENESIS and throughout the OLD TESTAMENT.

And that’s how God refers to ANGELS.

Genesis 16:7: “And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness …”

Genesis 19:1: “And there came two angels to Sodom at even …”

Genesis 21:17: “And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven …”

Genesis 22:11: “And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham:”

But then we get to GENESIS 6, & we read SONS OF GOD …

… and they say, Oh, well those are ANGELS!

& If you have a propensity to go back to the HEBREW …

… it’s ALWAYS MALAK … that’s the HEBREW word …

…. that the Bible uses for ANGELS in all of these passages.

And it means MESSENGER.

… but when God refers to the SONS OF GOD, it’s BEN ELOHIM.

“BEN”, meaning “SON OF” and ELOHIM being 1 of the names of God.

The angels are never referred to as BEN ELOHIM, SONS OF GOD anywhere …

… whereas ANGEL or MALAK is used 214 times in the Old Testament and 65 of those occurrences are in reference to the ANGEL OF THE LORD.

That’s the terminology used of Angels.

NEVER SONS OF GOD.

OK, but what about when the SONS OF GOD presenting themselves before the LORD in JOB 1?

That’s the GO TO PASSAGE for the NEPHILIM view …

On the surface of JOB 1 ….

it appears to be depicting a scene IN HEAVEN in which the SONS OF GOD are presenting themselves before God …

… and Satan comes in among them to get permission to afflict Job.

TURN TO JOB 1:6-8:
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

So it sounds like God is in heaven with the “SONS OF GOD” and then Satan comes in among them …

And so people assume that the “SONS OF GOD” is referring to ANGELS.

Even though it really doesn’t anywhere else in Scripture …

&on top of that, some of the MODERN BIBLE VERSIONS, rather than faitfhully translating the Word …

… decide to interpret it for you instead …

Here is Job 1:6 in the NIV: “One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them.”

Here’s the NLT: “One day the members of the heavenly court came to present themselves before the LORD, and the Accuser, Satan, came with them.”

So now we begin to see a part of the problem.

What happened to BEN ELOHIM?

Those are the 2 words that the original manuscripts use, which literally translated as the sons of God.

How do you get “members of the heavenly court” or the single word “angels” from those 2 very specific words?

The answer is that the modern Bible are INTERPRETING for you, instead of TRANSLATING.

And I’d like to offer you 2 possible interpretations of Job 1.

(1) The Sons of God are saved OLD TESTAMENT SAINTS in heaven who are presenting themselves before God.

And Satan comes in among them.

… But I lean towards this 2nd possibility.

(1) It strikes me as odd that Satan would have free access to the heavenly throne room …

… but the thing is, because of the nephilim view, people have assumed that the scene in Job 1 takes place in heaven …

… but notice that the SONS OF GOD are presenting themselves before the Lord …

… much in the same way that the ISRAELITES presented themselves before God when they came to Him in sacrifice & worship here on earth.

Look @ JOSHUA 24:1: “And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.”

I believe that this scene took place on earth …

… when the sons of God, the saved Israelites, presented themselves before God in worship …

God’s presence was literally there on earth in the tabernacle where God’s people worshipped Him & offered sacrifices …

Look at Leviticus 16:7: “And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.”

… I believe that’s what was happening there in Job 1 …

Look also @ Job 1:12, after God agrees to Satan’s petition to test Job: “And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth >> from the presence of the LORD.<<“ And again in Job 2:7: “So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.” Notice the phrase, “Satan went worth from the presence of the LORD”. We see the same language used when Cain left God’s presence here on earth. Genesis 4:16: “And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.” We have the “presence of the LORD” repeated throughout Scripture … … and it’s always on earth, never in heaven. So why do we assume that it’s any different in Job 1 … … other than that we have heard over and over again from the Nephilim that this scene took place in heaven. There’s no real evidence that it was taking place in heaven. THE OTHER PASSAGE that the NEPHILIM SIDE points to is JOB 38. IN JOB 38, God is asking Job a series of rhetorical questions … … & in v. 4-7, God says to Job: 4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. 5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? 6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Now people want to take the rhetorical questions that Job couldn’t answer … … & say that SONS OF GOD in this passage were angels, because the passage begins by talking about when God created the earth. Now, it’s true that God is talking, at first, about the CREATION … … where was thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? But notice that this passage mentions the CORNER STONE. “Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;” Who is the CORNER STONE? Who does the CORNER STONE refer to EVERY TIME it’s mentioned in the Bible? Ephesians 2:19-20: 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; And this isn’t restrained to the New Testament only. Psalm 118:22 says: “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.” So even in the Old Testament, the CORNER STONE is a reference to Jesus, as the Messiah, who was rejected by His own people. And so JOB 38 is a PROPHECY about JESUS, the CORNER STONE being laid … … it’s a prophecy about the DEATH, BURIAL, & RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ. In the Bible, especially in the OLD TESTAMENT … … there is something called DUAL PROPHECY … … where a passage is talking about immediate or present events … But then in midstream … … the same passage is a prophecy of distant or future events … … and that’s what I believe is happening here … … God is SPEAKING from an ENTERAL PERSPECTIVE when He mentions the CORNER STONE … When the CORNER STONE (JESUS) was being laid … … the SONS OF GOD (SAVED BELIEVERS) shouted for joy! God, speaking to Job, from an ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE talks both about the CREATION … … and the MOMENT when Jesus was crucified, buried, & resurrected. Revelation 13:8 ties it all together: “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” It was Jesus who was slain at the FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD! & that fits perfectly with Job 38:6: “Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;” ANOTHER POINT that the NEPHILIM PERSUASION takes … … is the view that the GIANTS were hundreds of feet tall! Whereas I don’t believe they were even 10 feet tall! & I’ll prove that you from the Bible. They get the height of the giants from extra-Biblical sources like the BOOK OF ENOCH … … & from over-literalizing METAPHORS & SIMILES in the Bible. But the truth is that the Bible reveals the size of the GIANTS as not much greater than 9+ feet. 1 Samuel 17:4 records the size of Goliath, whom David slew: “And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.” In today’s terms, six cubits and a span is about 9’ 9”. Now that’s still formidable. Think about ANDRE the GIANT. He was only 7’4 and he was not exactly built like a warrior … Imagine a formidable warrior & the champion of Israel’s enemies at 9’9” tall! The only other measurement we have of the GIANTS is the measurement of KING OG’S bed. The Bible records that King Og’s bed was about 13’5 tall. Deuteronomy 3:11: “For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.” 9 cubits is 13.5’. Now, if you’re a king & have all the wealth & power the world can offer … … you’re not going to sleep in a bed that’s only as tall as yourself. Beds are made several feet taller & this would be even more so for a royal giant king bed. So it’s safe to say that King Og was probably also somewhere in the 9+ foot range himself, just like Goliath. Outside of these 2 Biblical measurements for the GIANTS … … we have no Biblical evidence to suggest that the GIANTS were any larger. So to say they are, is going outside the confines of Scripture. But people point to verses like Numbers 13:33 which says: “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” But notice it says “AS GRASSHOPERS” - that’s a SIMILE … Upon meeting a very tall person, you might say something like: “He’s as tall as a skyscraper!” But you’re not speaking in literal, mathematical measurements … ANOTHER VERSE THEY USE IS AMOS 2:9 to claim that the giants were these massive extra-human creatures. Amos 2:9 says: “Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.” Again, it says their height was LIKE the height of the cedars … That’s an obvious example of a simile, much like my example of comparing a tall person to a SKYSCRAPER. But then they turn to the BOOK OF ENOCH … … a fictional book which people claim was written by the Enoch of the Bible … … THE BOOK OF ENOCH claims that the giants were 300 cubits tall … … which is 450 feet! But the BOOK OF ENOCH is a BOOK OF FICTION … … & nowhere in the Bible does it ever say that ENOCH wrote a book. People point to Jude, v. 14, which says: “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,” & they say the BOOK OF ENOCH has the same quote in it. But does Jude say that Enoch WROTE SCRIPTURE or does it say that he PROPHESIED? This was a spoken prophecy by Enoch that was passed on from generation to generation verbally. There’s no mention of a BOOK OF ENOCH anywhere in the Bible. The BOOK ENOCH is a book of Fables, and worse, it’s a Satanic book. The most DAMNING portion of the BOOK OF ENOCH is where it claims that FALLEN ANGELS taught mankind how to read & write. Speaking of a fallen angel or demon, it says: 9 The name of the fourth is Penemue: he discovered the children of men bitterness and sweetness: 10 And pointed out to them every secret of their wis- -dom. 11 He taught men to understand writing, and the use of ink and paper. 12 Therefore numerous have been those who have gone astray from every period of the world, even to this day. 13 For men were not born for this, thus with pen and with ink to confirm their faith. THE BOOK OF ENOCH claims that the origin of reading & writing was demonic … If that’s true, that would make the Bible Satanic. That would make the apostles and prophets who penned the Bible by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, demonic. The BOOK OF ENOCH is a BOOK OF LIES. The Giants WERE NOT 450 feet tall, as it claims! SO THEN THE QUESTION WE TURN BACK TO IS … … if GOD didn’t FLOOD THE EARTH because of hybrid human angels, then WHY DID HE FLOOD THE EARTH? I mentioned earlier how that the Bible clearly teaches that it was because the violence of men that had utterly filled the earth … Again, Genesis 6:5, 13 gives us the reason: 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. [it’s the wickedness of MAN, not hybrid human angels] … 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. So the SETHITE VIEW is that God established strict commandments about His people marrying unbelievers … … because if they did, it would lead to IDOLATRY and WICKEDNESS & VIOLENCE … … which is exactly what happened. Deuteronomy 7: 1 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; 2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: 3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. 4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly. 5 But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire. 6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. You have to understand that God’s plan of salvation included the creation of the nation of Israel … … as a holy & separate nation from which the Messiah would spring forth … … In Exodus 19:6 God said to His people: “And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation …” This also was exactly what happened to King Solomon, when he married many wives from surrounding unbelieving nations. In his latter life, Solomon fell into idolatry. 1 Kings 11:1-4: 1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, [and] Hittites; 2 Of the nations [concerning] which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: [for] surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love. 3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. 4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. We see this again & again, in Numbers 25:1-3: 1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. 2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods. 3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. & it’s the same command in the NT: 2 Corinthians 6:14-15: 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And so when the SONS OF GOD took wives of the DAUGHTERS of MEN … … it led to apostasy, idolatry, wickedness, & violence … One final point … All of this had to do with the GENEALOGY OF CHRIST as traced through the line of SETH vs. CAIN … The GENEALOGIES listed in CHAPTERS 4 & 5 … … the chapters leading up to Genesis 6 … … is the real context of this entire debate. Don’t worry, I’m not going to read you the whole genealogy today! BUT TURN TO GENESIS 4:16-17: 17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. 18 And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech. And Genesis 4 outlines the genealogy of Cain, who was the ungodly line … … as a whole, his people were not saved believers. And if you have any doubt as to Cain’s salvation, 1 John 3:12 says: “Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.” Cain was relying on his own works, which is why he brought a sacrifice of the work of his own hands to God … (what he had produced & grown in the earth) … … whereas Abel brought a living sacrifice … he brought the “firstlings of his flock” … Hebrews 11:4 says: “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” But then the end of Chapter 4 of Genesis begins the genealogy of Seth, as the Godly line … As a whole, Seth’s line were saved believers … And it was through Seth’s line that Jesus would come forth … And then we get to GENESIS 5 … …. And that ENTIRE CHAPTER is dedicated to the genealogy of the LINE OF SETH … Genesis 5:1-3: 1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; 2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. 3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: And it goes on for 32 verses … And it goes all the way to Noah and his sons in the final verse: “And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.” And then we get to chapter 6 … which is the controversial chapter. And notice that CHAPTER 6 begins with the word, “AND”. That “AND” is very important. It’s continuing the narrative flow of the Bible. Chapters 4 & 5, outline the genealogy of the line of Cain vs. the line of Seth … … and then chapter 6, v. 1 begins with: 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. It’s just a continuation of the genealogy. That’s the context … One more thing … Look @ the language that the Bible uses to describe Cain vs. Seth. Genesis 4:1: “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.” Cain is NEVER called a “SON” in the Bible … This is the Bible dictionary at work. Now look at how the Bible describes the birth of Seth. Genesis 4:25: “And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.” So Cain is called a “man”, Seth is called a “son”. And you juxtapose this with Genesis 6:2 and, again, it fits perfectly: “That the sons of God [the line of Seth] saw the daughters of men [the line of Cain] that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.” See, it’s about intermingling and believing marrying unbelievers. The fallen angels didn’t take WIVES and get MARRIED to humans. They didn’t go through a marriage ceremony. This is talking about humans only. IT’s the only possible answer, Biblically, biologically, and spiritually. & THE REASON WHY it’s so important to not ignore this false teaching … … and to refute it from the Bible … … is because the story of the Bible is literally changed by the Nephilim view … … it’s no longer about God destroying the earth because of man’s wickedness and depravity … … but about hybrid human-angel nephilim offspring. It’s no longer about God commanding the saved over & over again not to yoke unequally with unbelievers … … because they'll fall into idolatry and wickedness … … but about hybrid human-angel nephilim offspring. … they change also the reason why God destroyed the surrounding nations around Israel. It was so that the Israelites would not be polluted by the pagan idolatry and child sacrifice and everything other wicked thing that was going in these nations … The NEPHILIM doctrine also leads to other FALSE TEACHINGS … … such as the SERPENT SEED DOCTRINE … … which claims that Satan copulated with Eve & that’s how CAIN came into the world … … that’s a cousin doctrine to the nephilim view … … others teach that if you have certain BLOOD TYPES, that you can’t be saved … … because they claim that you carry NEPHILIM BLOOD … … & that your DNA has been corrupted.
