Leviticus 18:22
In honor of LGBT “Pride” Month in America, I’m preaching on LEVITICUS 18:22.
Leviticus 18:22 says:
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. (v. 23)
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
& I’ve been preaching against the lie of the “reprobate doctrine” which says that homosexuals can’t be saved …
… but at the same time I want to be crystal clear about what the Bible does teach about the abomination of homosexuality …
… because it’s NOT NORMAL & it’s NOT OK.
Our culture today wants us to believe that it’s NORMAL.
They want to make it a CIVIL RIGHTS issue on par w/ racism.
… Their agenda is to make it commonplace & acceptable …
But homosexuality is NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF!
The Bible isn’t apologetic about calling it what it is: AN ABOMINATION.
What is an ABOMINATION?
An ABOMINATION is something that GOD HATES.
It’s something that God DETESTS.
An ABOMINATION is an OBJECT of EXTREME HATRED.
It’s not just a SIN, but an ABOMINATION.
Proverbs 15:8 says: “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD …”
& in Leviticus 18, we get a progression of SERIOUS, CARNAL SINS listed consecutively after one another.
Bestiality is listed in v. 23 …
… right after homosexuality in v. 22.
A few verses before in v. 20, ADULTERY is also forbidden, according to God’s perfect Law.
Leviticus 18:20 says: “Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile thyself with her.”
So homosexuality is sandwiched in between ADULTERY & BESTIALITY.
From one MAJOR SIN to ANOTHER to ANOTHER, and each one gets worse.
We see a BIBLICAL PROGRESSION of CARNAL SINS.
ADULTERY is called as a DEFILEMENT.
HOMOSEXUALITY as an ABOMINATION.
BESTIALITY as CONFUSION.
The entire chapter of LEVITICUS 18 focuses on deviant CARNAL SINS …
Leviticus 18:6 begins the list w/ INCEST: “None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.”
These are the types of abominable sins that the Bible groups together:
incest, adultery, homosexuality, & bestiality.
And these are the sins that the WORLD is trying to NORMALIZE today.
It’s all a PART of Satan’s agenda to NORMALIZE ABOMINATION.
He Himself in the Person of the Anti-Christ is called the ABOMINATION of DESOLATION in Matthew 24:15.
Satan wants to DEFILE & DESTROY God’s CREATION in totality:
From the food we eat, to the water we drink, to the air we breathe …
… & now to gender confusion & sexual immorality & the destruction of the family.
But the Bible uses strong words & phrases to describe the abomination of homosexuality:
UNCLEANNESS, LUST, & DISHONOR (in Romans 1:24)
VILE AFFECTIONS & AGAINST NATURE (in Romans 1:26)
UNSEEMLY & ERROR (in Romans 1:27)
STRANGE or STRANGE FLESH (in Jude 1:7)
SODOMITES (in Deuteronomy & 1 Kings)
ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES w/ MANKIND (in 1 Cor 6:9)
& THEM THAT DEFILE THEMSELVES w/ MANKIND (in 1 Timothy 1:10).
& I have no doubt – none whatsoever …
… that ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES w/ MANKIND is reference to homosexuals …
… despite how HARD some try to change the Bible’s clear, natural & simple meaning of the phrase.
But I’m also not comfortable with any of the terms that the world uses today to describe these vile acts.
For example, the word “Homosexual” itself has a CLINICAL CONNOTATION to it …
It gives the impression that it’s natural to the human condition & normal for some …
& as though some are just “BORN THAT WAY”!
But NO ONE is “BORN THAT WAY”.
Satan is just a clever liar.
His goal is to normalize it, by making people believe they just can’t help it.
But there’s no “GAY GENE”.
No one is born that way.
It’s a CHOICE that people make!
The same way that ADULTERERS choose to defile themselves …
The same way that a FORNICATOR decides to commit fornication.
NO ONE is BORN an ADULTERER or a FORNICATOR …
… anymore than ANYONE is “BORN GAY”.
Genesis 5:2 says: “Male and female created he them; and blessed them …”
That’s GOD’S NATURAL ORDER for MAN …
That’s what the SCRIPTURE teaches.
Anything else is a PERVERSION of GOD’S NATURAL ORDER.
As God’s people, we are commanded to: “Be fruitful, and multiply”.
When God wants to bless His people, He blesses them with children —
He multiplies them.
God says in Leviticus 26:9: “For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.”
Speaking of Jacob, who would become Israel, Genesis 35:11 says: “And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;”
When evil shepherds & pastors scattered God’s sheep, God said in Jeremiah 23:3: “And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.”
But homosexuals can’t be fruitful; they can’t multiply.
They’re contrary to God’s plan for man.
They have nothing to be “PROUD OF”.
Instead of MARCHING in THE STREETS …
… THEY SHOULD BE HIDING IN THEIR CLOSETS.
They’re a willful aberration from God’s NATURAL ORDER.
& so the only way for them to INCREASE is to RECRUIT …
… to infest our schools & RECRUIT our children w/ “politically correct” lies …
… to march in Gay Pride parades and dress up like freaks & fairies.
… to take over Hollywood and family sitcoms.
& NOTICE THE WARNING that God gave the Israelites in Leviticus 18 …
… if they went after these types of abominations:
Leviticus 18:24-25 says:
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
There’s a DIRE WARNING given to the nation who permits & commits such vile & lewd acts.
GOD GIVES THE ISRAELITES the LAW after they conquer the land of Canaan …
& settle in the PROMISED LAND …
… & God expressly tells them that the pagan nations who surround them DO THESE THINGS …
He’s warning them against their neighbors in the world on every side …
… He says to them to BE SEPARATE from them.
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (2 Corinthians 6:17).
Leviticus 18 starts w/ this admonish:
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.
3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.
& then God continues to give Moses the restrictions in the rest of the chapter.
& after He forbids incest, adultery, homosexuality, & bestiality, among other things …
God repeats his warning again at the end of the chapter:
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.
So the ORDINANCES against these vile abominations …
… are sandwiched in between GOD admonishing them NOT TO BE LIKE THE NATIONS AROUND THEM.
Otherwise, HE WILL JUDGE THEM.
& THAT’S A GOOD ADMONITION FOR the CHRISTIAN CHURCH, especially today.
We shouldn’t be TOLERANT of SIN or SENSITIVE to WICKEDNESS.
& at the same time we have to realize that we’re dealing w/ THE PAGAN WORLD.
… pagan unsaved people in the WORLD do vile & wicked things.
It would be surprising if the world DIDN’T LOOK the way it does today …
The Bible has forewarned us that the world would be heading in this dark direction …
If anything, the condition of the world only vindicates the TRUTH of the BIBLE.
As Christians we are going to be VEXED by the wickedness of the world …
We should be VEXED …
What you don’t want to happen is for it to become NORMAL or COMMONPLACE to us …
& we have to remember that we don’t really BELONG HERE.
This is not our home …
… we’re just PILGRIMS & STRANGERS passing through.
THE BIBLE TEACHES that in the End Times, just before Jesus returns …
… that the world will be as it was in the days of Noe & in the days of Lot …
… just before …
…. SUDDEN JUDGMENT & DESTRUCTION comes from the LORD to the earth.
Luke 17:24-30:
24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
To the world & the worldly …
… life will be seem normal …
… most people will be going about their lives, oblivious to the judgment to come …
1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 says:
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
That’s speaking of the unbeliever.
To saved Christians, Jesus says in v. 4:
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Luke 17 continues:
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
It’s no accident that as we see churches falling away, & heresies abounding almost daily …
… that homosexuality & “GAY PRIDE” has also increased & been largely accepted by our society.
It’s all a part of Satan’s End-Goal.
& so what we learn from this passage is that:
(1) God’s wrath will come SUDDENLY & UNEXPECTEDLY on unbelievers …
They will be eating & drinking & marrying …
… but sudden destruction will come upon them when they least expect it.
(2) That VIOLENCE & WICKEDNESS will increase in the land …
… because that was exactly THE WORLD’S CONDITION in Noah’s & Lot’s time.
Noah’s time was especially characterized by VIOLENCE …
… so much so that God brought global destruction to the earth through the FLOOD.
We see that in Genesis 6:11-13:
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
God didn’t destroy the earth because of the Nephilim, but because of great violence in the earth.
& LOT’S TIME was characterized by WICKEDNESS & ABOMINATION …
… particularly HOMOSEXUALITY.
Genesis 18:20 says: “And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;”
What was it about Sodom’s sin that was “VERY GRIEVOUS” the LORD?
The answer is in Jude 1:7, which says: “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
This was the SIN that was “VERY GRIEVOUS” to God.
BUT THOSE WHO DEFEND the abomination of sodomy …
… claim that SODOM wasn’t destroyed because of homosexuality …
… but because they mistreated the poor.
& they turn to Ezekiel 16 for this.
But Ezekiel 16 doesn’t say that’s the only reason that God destroy Sodom …
… in fact, more than anything it emphasizes the abomination which was committed there.
Ezekiel 16:49-50 says:
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
God held PRIDE & NOT CARING FOR THE POOR against Sodom …
(We see that in v. 49).
But then in v. 50 God says that they committed ABOMINATION before Him.
… & then it says: THEREFORE, I took them away as I saw good.
The same word, “ABOMINATION” is used in Leviticus 18:22: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”
& when we compare that to what happened in Genesis 18 & 19 when all the men of the city wanted to “know” God’s angels …
it becomes evident that it was really a combination of all these things:
…. pride, haughtiness, idleness, not caring for the poor …
… which all culminated in the abomination of sodomy (that’s a KJV word btw, which the modern Bibles remove).
This was simply the last straw before God sent His judgment upon them …
… as an EXAMPLE to the rest of the world.
Jude 1:7 says that they were “set forth for an example” …
… God destroyed Sodom 1 time to show us how He really feels about homosexuality.
He doesn’t need to keep doing it again.
That was the warning He gave, before He returns to judge the world in its entirety.
Genesis 19:24-25 says:
24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
Psalm 11:6 says: “Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.”
The sodomites literally got a taste of Hell on earth …
… sort of like a small preview of what is to come.
This is only a taste of what unrepentant sodomites & unbelievers have in store for them:
Revelation 14:10 says:
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Brimstone is also in the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 21:8 says: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
& so, God sent the sodomites into Hell …
…. after He killed them with literal fire & brimstone which He rained down from heaven.
EZEKIEL 30:33 says: “… the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.”
BUT “GAY ACTIVISTS” CLAIM …
… that Jesus Himself never directly condemned homosexuality in the New Testament.
Because Jesus didn’t literally use the words, “homosexuality is a sin” …
& didn’t condemn anybody directly of it …
… they claim that this means that He didn’t disapprove of it.
But 1st of all … no one would have been openly GAY in ancient Israel.
This is called an “ARGUMENT FROM SILENCE”, which is not really valid.
Jesus didn’t directly say a word about PEDOPHILIA or RAPE or INCEST either.
Does that mean Jesus approves of Pedophilia, Rape, & Incest? Of course not.
It’s just not a valid or an honest argument.
2ND: Jesus kept the LAW perfectly …
… & the LAW clearly condemns homosexuality.
Jesus loved God’s Law & agreed with the Law in totality …
… otherwise He would not be the Christ.
So when Leviticus 18:22 calls it an ABOMINATION, Jesus was in complete agreement with that.
Jesus is in fact, the AUTHOR, of LEVITICUS 18:22.
& Jesus DID in fact also comment on homosexuality …
… by affirming heterosexuality as the only God approved way.
In Mark 10:6-9, Jesus said:
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
A man can’t become ONE FLESH with another MAN.
So the United States of Sodom-America can affirm GAY MARRIAGE, but GOD NEVER WILL!
BEFORE GOD RAINED DOWN FIRE & BRIMSTONE upon SODOM & GOMORRA …
… it was also A PRE-INCARNATE appearance of Jesus Christ as an angel …
… who appeared to Abraham & revealed that He was going to DESTROY SODOM & GOMORRA …
In Genesis 18:17-23, it was the LORD HIMSELF in bodily form (a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus) who spoke with Abraham about destroying Sodom & Gomorra:
17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
Abraham was speaking directly to Jesus Christ at this point …
… because God the Father doesn’t appear in bodily form, except in the Person of Jesus Christ.
No one can SEE God the Father & Live …
This was a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus, speaking with Abraham.
It was Jesus Himself who commanded the angels to destroy Sodom.
JESUS SAID in John 10:35: “… the scripture cannot be broken;”
If it was an abomination in Leviticus, it’s still abomination today …
… GOD’S MORALITY does not change.
It’s true that we’re now under the new covenant of GRACE …
But what used to be sin then is still sin now (in terms of the moral Law).
… MURDER is still MURDER …
… STEALING is still STEALING …
… & homosexuaity is still an ABOMINATION.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11:
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
You will still go to Hell if you commit any of these sins …
… unless you are forgiven in Christ.
But v. 11 gives the vilest of sinners hope: “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
A FEW WEEKS AGO, I had a family-friend visiting from out of the country …
… & I took him to downtown Spokane to show him around a bit ….
& we just happened to catch the AFTERMATH of the annual GAY-PRIDE PARADE here in town …
I had no idea that was that day!
& I have to say, it VEXED MY SOUL!
But I look around & I noticed that almost all of them were maybe like 16, 17, 18, maybe 19 …
& it quickly became obvious that it’s cultural conditioning to a large degree …
… because they’re being told it’s OK in school and in the media & …
… because this sinful lifestyle is endorsed by our govt.
There’s no way that if most of these people were around in the 70s or 80s or 90s when I was growing up …
… that they would have turned out this way
2 Peter 2:6-8 says:
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
But not enough PASTORS & CHURCHES are VEXED …
… most churches in America today are NOT PREACHING against homosexuality …
Here’s what the Bible says about PASTORS who keep SILENT about this kind of abomination.
Isaiah 56:10-11:
10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
What is a DUMB DOG? Not a stupid dog … but a dog who cannot BARK …
… Shepherds are supposed to WARN their FLOCK about evil & wickedness.
… & the Bible says that pastors who remain silent are like DUMB DOGS who are incapable of BARKING.
They’re DUMB as in MUTE.
An obvious example of such a SHEPHERD is JOEL OSTEEN …
A TV reporter asked Joel Osteen in an interview:
“WHAT ABOUT ISSUES LIKE GAY MARRIAGE? People look to the ministers for leadership.”
Osteen: “You know, I don’t really focus on a lot of those things. I try to stay in my lane … of what I feel called to do. That’s not my core message … my core message is how to have a healthy self-image … everybody’s welcome … we all have issues, we’re all on a journey.”
Joel & his wife even said they’d attend a Gay wedding.
RICK WARREN is another DUMB DOG who held hands in a public display on national television …
… with sodomite Elton John & joked about kissing him.
OK, so what’s the SOLUTION?
Unfortunately, the ONLY VIABLE SOLUTION FOR OUR SOCIETY …
… is NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN in this world …
… until Jesus Himself returns to set things right.
We’ve gone too far down the BROAD PATH to turn back now.
But the solution is to do what the Bible says in Leviticus & to make homosexuality illegal again.
Of course, that’s never going to happen, so I don’t waste a lot of energy on that.
BUT IN LEVITICUS 18, the Bible listed & condemned an entire list of carnal sins & abominations ….
… including sodomy.
& then fast forward 2 chapters to LEVITICUS 20 …
& the Bible then lists the CIVIL PUNISHMENT for those same sins & abominations.
Leviticus 20:10 begins:
10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
11 And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
12 And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
14 And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
15 And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.
16 And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
The same sins, adultery, incest, homosexuality, bestiality …
… all incur the DEATH PENALTY, according to God’s perfect Law.
Now, I understand that we are NOT under the OLD MOSAIC COVENANT today …
These LAWS were given specifically to Israel …
… but the MORALS LAWS contained in the LAW are an example to all mankind for all time.
While believers are not bound to the Law, but to the grace that we have under the NEW COVENANT in CHRIST JESUS …
The OT MORAL & CIVIL LAWS are perfect.
They are the IDEAL for SOCIETY, because if they were inacted …
… there would be no GAY PRIDE PARADES …
… there would be NO INDOCTRINATION of SODOMY & ABORTION in our schools …
… ADULTERY & DIVORCE would become almost non-existence (compared to today).
… CHILDREN would be respectful to PARENTS …
Psalm 19:7 says: “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”
God’s Law is perfect.
If SODOMY was ILLEGAL in America AGAIN, the problem would be solved.
& I say again, because SODOMY WAS ILLEGAL in America for the vast majority of our history.
Up until 1962, SODOMY was ILLEGAL in EVERY STATE …
… & punishable by LIFE IMPRISONMENT and/or HARD LABOR.
OBAMA’S homestate, Illinois, became the 1st state to remove sodomy laws from the books.
It wasn’t until 2002 that 36 more states abolished their sodomy laws.
That wasn’t that long ago!
As of 2014, there were still some states which still had anti-sodomy laws …

… SODOMY was punishable by DEATH in most states.
THOMAS JEFFERSON, who is known for championing individual rights & for penning the Bill of Rights …
… wrote a law in 1779 in his home state of VIRGINIA …
… which proposed THE CASTRATION of HOMOSEXUALS …
… the LAW failed to PASS for being TOO SOFT on sodomites!
Jefferson’s Law was considered too LIBERAL!
The VIRGINIA LEGISLATORS opted for the DEATH PENALTY instead.
Here’s just a few of the STATE LAWS in early America:
NEW YORK (today among the most LIBERAL STATES in the Union), had this law:
That the detestable and abominable vice of buggery [sodomy] . . . shall be from henceforth adjudged felony . . . and that every person being thereof convicted by verdict, confession, or outlawry, shall be hanged by the neck until he or she shall be dead.
CONNECTICUT
That if any man shall lie with mankind as he lieth with womankind, both of them have committed abomination; they both shall be put to death.
GEORGIA
Sodomy . . . shall be punished by imprisonment at hard labour in the penitentiary during the natural life or lives of the person or persons convicted of th[is] detestable crime.
SOUTH CAROLINA
[T]he detestable and abominable vice of buggery [sodomy] . . . be from henceforth adjudged felony . . . and that the offenders being hereof convicted by verdict, confession, or outlawry [unlawful flight to avoid prosecution], shall suffer such pains of death and losses and penalties of their goods.
VERMONT
That if any man lieth with mankind as he lieth with a woman, they both shall suffer death.
Notice the Biblical language in Vermont’s Law.
HOW FAR WE’VE STRAYED from the Bible today in America.
& many of our founding laws originated from a British Law book, written by WILLIAM BLACKSTONE, called, “Commentaries on the Laws of England”.
BLACKSTONE WROTE:
IV. WHAT has been here observed…, which ought to be the more clear in proportion as the crime is the more detestable, may be applied to another offence, of a still deeper malignity; the infamous crime against nature, committed either with man or beast…. But it is an offence of so dark a nature…that the accusation should be clearly made out….
I WILL not act so disagreeable part, to my readers as well as myself, as to dwell any longer upon a subject, the very mention of which is a disgrace to human nature. It will be more eligible to imitate in this respect the delicacy of our English law, which treats it, in it’s very indictments, as a crime not fit to be named; …
THIS the voice of nature and of reason, and the express law of God, determine to be capital.
Of which we have a signal instance, long before the Jewish dispensation, by the destruction of two cities by fire from heaven: so that this is an universal, not merely a provincial, precept.
I FIRMLY BELIEVE that if HOMOSEXUALITY was a CAPITAL OFFENSE today …
… that it would virtually disappear, AT LEAST PUBLICLY.
… America would become pre-1962 all over again.
SODOMITES would go back in the closet, in SHAME, where they belong …
… instead of prancing around w/ PRIDE!
& look, this isn’t about BLOODLUST …
… like it is for some pastors & churches …
The Bible says that God has NO PLEASURE in the DEATH OF THE WICKED in Ezekiel 18:23.
I don’t to see anyone die.
I’ll still preach the GOSPEL to EVERY CREATURE.
I would rather that they REPENT & BELIEVE the GOSPEL …
But it would be PUBLIC DETERRENT …
& ISN’T IT GREAT that we have a PRESIDENT today …
… who refused to ACKNOWLEDGE GAY PRIDE MONTH?
This month, headlines read: “Trump FAILS to recognize LGBT PRIDE MONTH”.
The real HEADLINE should read: “TRUMP SUCCEEDS at NOT RECOGNIZING LGBT Pride Month”.
But then, again, we all know we’re dealing w/ FAKE NEWS, so that’s to be expected.
Let’s close w/ a reading of GENESIS 19 about the destruction of Sodom & Gomorra.

GOD REMEMBERED ABRAHAM.
Remember Abraham had pleaded w/ GOD to spare SODOM …
… not because He loved the sodomites per se …
… but because of his nephew LOT …
But there was not even 10 who were RIGHTEOUS in all of SODOM & GOMORRA.
In fact, I don’t know if anyone but LOT himself was saved …
… & perhaps his wife & his daughters.
But there’s not even any indication that they were saved.
LOT MAY HAVE BEEN THE ONLY ONE.
