GENESIS 19: THE DESTRUCTION OF SODOM

Genesis 19 is as much an account of the DESTRUCTION of SODOM …

… as it is the BOOK-END or the FINAL CHAPTER in the STORY of LOT …

We’ve been following LOT’S LIFE as he followed his uncle ABRAM …

… out of UR to CANAAN …

… to when he chose the well-watered plains of Jordan over the PROMISED LAND …

… & “pitched his tent toward Sodom” …

… to when he was captured in the BATTLE of the 9 KINGS …

… & now in GENESIS 19, we see LOT is well-established …

… as a magistrate or a leader in the city of SODOM.

Genesis 19:1 begins:
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

Genesis 19:1 says that “LOT SAT IN THE GATE OF SODOM” …

& that’s how we know that LOT was not just a citizen of SODOM …

… but was 1 of its prominent figures …

In Biblical times, CITY GATES were places of SOCIAL & POLITICAL ACTIVITY …

COURT CASES were decided, commerce was accomplished, & ISSUES of the DAYS were discussed & decided on …

& as surprising as it is …

… LOT SAT IN THE GATE of SODOM as 1 of its RULING-CLASS MEN.

That’s how far LOT had gone in the world …

Proverbs 1:20-21 says:
20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates …

When BOAZ went to redeem RUTH …

… he called together the ELDERS of the CITY & they SAT in the GATE.

Ruth 4:1-2 says:
1 Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.
2 And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.

So “sitting in the gate” carried with it POLITICAL & SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE.

& By the time that we get to GENESIS 19 …

… we see that LOT has not only PITCHED HIS TENT TOWARD SODOM …

… but has attained to a POSITION OF POLITICAL AUTHORITY within its CITY GATES.

This is important to understand about LOT …

… because LOT is a POSTER-BOY for the SAVED, but WORLDLY CHRISTIAN …

THE CHRISTIAN who gets saved by GRACE THROUGH FAITH ALONE …

… but then who LITERALLY WASTES his entire life …

… seeking after WORLDLY AMBITION, without doing any GOOD WORKS for GOD.

The Bible says in 2 Peter 2:7-8 that God:
7 … delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

The Bible clearly teaches that LOT was saved …

… calling him “JUST LOT” & a “RIGHTEOUS MAN” w/ a “RIGHTEOUS SOUL”.

BUT WHAT GOOD WORKS did LOT have to show for it?

LOT LITERALLY HAD NO GOOD WORKS.

He was living exclusively for the WORLD.

In fact, we’ll see from the rest of GENESIS 19 …

… that LOT LOSES EVERYTHING in this life …

… including his WIFE, his family, his possessions, his power, his land, his house …

… even a good-standing relationship with his own daughters.

But the BIBLE still calls HIM JUST & RIGHTEOUS!

Not because of how he had lived his life …

… but because he received the IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS of CHRIST through FAITH.

IF LOT ISN’T A PICTURE of SALVATION by GRACE THROUGH FAITH —

I don’t know what is …

… because he had nothing to show for it in this life …

… but the Bible still calls him RIGHTEOUS!

1 Corinthians 3:15 says: “If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

This is speaking of the JUDGMENT SEAT of CHRIST …

… where a BELIEVER’S WORKS will be judged …

… not for SALVATION, but for ETERNAL REWARDS.

It’s the famous passage in 1 Corinthians 3, where it’s talking about CHRIST being our FOUNDATION …

… & how our works will be CLASSIFIED & JUDGED as either GOLD, SILVER, PRECIOUS STONES …

… or as HAY, WOOD, & STUBBLE …

… & will be TESTED by FIRE.

Of course the WOOD, HAY & STUBBLE will not withstand the FIRE & will be BURNED AWAY.

& LOT is a PERFECT ILLUSTRATION of the BELIEVER who GETS SAVED “AS YET BY FIRE” —

He’s SAVED, but ALL OF HIS WORKS are burned away not only in this life ….

… (literally for LOT as FIRE comes down from heaven ) …

…. but also @ the JUDGMENT SEAT of CHRIST where his LIFE will be judged!

Genesis 19:2 continues:
2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

& Despite our CULTURE TODAY …

… the BIBLE says that HOMOSEXUALITY – or SODOMY as the Bible calls it — is not only a SIN …

… but AN ABOMINATION.

Leviticus 18:22-24 says:
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

But today, we have this whole TRANSGENDERED, LGBT, GENDER-FLUID AGENDA …

… where even KIDS are being TAUGHT & encouraged …

… to pick their OWN GENDER IDENTITY.

But this flies in the face of not only the BIBLE & Common Sense …

… but also basic BIOLOGY & SCIENCE …

… which the non-believing WORLD loves …

… until it goes against their COMMIE-LIBERAL, GOD-HATING AGENDA!

Now as SHOCKING as it is to our MODERN SENSIBILITY ….

… the Bible commands the DEATH PENALTY for homosexuality.

Leviticus 20:13 says: “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

In EARLY AMERICA …

… In the ORIGINAL 13 ORIGINAL COLONIES …

… homosexuality was punishable by DEATH or LIFE IMPRISONMENT & HARD LABOR …

IN NEW YORK (today among the most LIBERAL STATES in the Union), they had this law in the books:

That the detestable and abominable vice of buggery [which is an older word for sodomy] . . . shall be from henceforth adjudged felony . . . and that every person being thereof convicted by verdict, confession, or outlawry, shall be hanged by the neck until he or she shall be dead.

This was the LAW in the UNITED STATES all the way up until the mid-1800s!

CONNECTICUT
That if any man shall lie with mankind as he lieth with womankind, both of them have committed abomination; they both shall be put to death. [Notice the BIBLICAL LANGUAGE of the LAW]!

GEORGIA
Sodomy . . . shall be punished by imprisonment at hard labour in the penitentiary during the natural life or lives of the person or persons convicted of th[is] detestable crime.

SOUTH CAROLINA

[T]he detestable and abominable vice of buggery . . . be from henceforth adjudged felony . . . and that the offenders being hereof convicted by verdict, confession, or outlawry, shall suffer such pains of death and losses and penalties of their goods.

VERMONT
That if any man lieth with mankind as he lieth with a woman, they both shall suffer death.

THOMAS JEFFERSON, the AUTHOR of the BILL OF RIGHTS & CHAMPION of INDIVIDUAL FREEDOMS …

… wrote a BILL in his home State of Virginia in 1779 …

… calling for the CASTRATION of HOMOSEXUALS.

But the VA STATE LEGISLATURE voted against JEFFERSON, opting instead for the DEATH PENALTY INSTEAD …

& I’ll will say this: while I want everyone to get saved …

… if these early AMERICAN LAWS hadn’t changed …

… we wouldn’t have HOMOSEXUALS PROUDLY PRANCING AROUND NAKED in the STREETS …

& we wouldn’t have our CHILDREN INDOCTRINATED @ THE KINDERGARTEN LEVEL …

… & we might even be able to TURN ON our TVs without getting that FILTH crammed down our throats!

But the FACT IS that even those who DESERVE DEATH …

… (which really includes all of us, because for all have sinned …)

… can be SAVED, according to the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST.

2 Peter 2:9 says that God is: “… not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

& we’ll get to that in a MOMENT …

But Genesis 19:6-9 says:
6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

& this is 1 of those PASSAGES where people CRITICIZE the BIBLE & GOD …

… over LOT’S HORRIFIC & UNRIGHTEOUS DECISION to OFFER his DAUGHTERS …

But remember, LOT is not an EXAMPLE of a CHRISTIAN LIVING A GODLY LIFESTYLE.

LOT OFFERING his 2 DAUGHTERS …

… IS NOT an ENDORSEMENT from GOD or the BIBLE …

… The REAL PROBLEM is that LOT wasn’t carrying a GLOCK …

If someone is going to BREAK INTO YOUR HOUSE & RAPE YOU or SOMEONE YOU KNOW …

… the PROPER RESPONSE isn’t to OFFER THEM YOUR DAUGHTERS …

… the PROPER RESPONSE is to BLOW THEM AWAY to HELL!

Thankfully for LOT & his daughters, the ANGELS stepped in instead.

Genesis 19:10-11:
10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

The MEN of SODOM who were SPIRITUALLY BLIND already …

… were now struck with LITERAL BLINDNESS also …

Genesis 19:12:
12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
14 And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

LOT was STILL LINGERING even in the midst of the OVERTHROW of SODOM.

The ANGELS had to LITERALLY GRAB HIS HAND & DRAG HIM OUT!

This was the EXTENT to which LOT had let SODOM & the WORLD take ROOT in his HEART.

17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:

I find it ASTONISHING that LOT began to ARGUE & PLEAD w/ the ANGELS @ this moment …

… even as they’re fleeing …

LOT had become such a CITY BOY & a LOVER of the WORLD …

… that when the ANGELS want to take him to the MOUNTAINTOP …

… he begs them to send him to a SMALL CITY instead …

… because he wanted to continue to ENJOY the BENEFITS of WORLDLY CIVILIZATION.

They say: “ESCAPE to the MOUNTAIN” … & he says: “Oh, not so, my Lord:”.

19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:

He didn’t think that he could survive in the WILDERNESS w/ GOD!

20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

GOD would not DESTROY the CITY until LOT was safe!

23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

Now, some CHRISTIANS & COMMENTATORS tend to SHY AWAY from SUPERNATURAL THINGS in the Bible …

But GOD is a SUPERNATURAL GOD …

… & some COMMENTATORS say …

… that the DESTRUCTION of SODOM had to do with …

… NATURAL GAS DEPOSITS that were in the area …

… combined with flammable substances …

… with a MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE as the CATALYST …

… & the THEORY is that GOD used these NATURAL ELEMENTS @ His disposal …

… to RAIN DOWN FIRE & BRIMSTONE upon SODOM & GOMORRA.

BUT WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

Genesis 19:24 says: “the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;”

This is such a great verse in the WORD OF GOD.

First, it says that THE LORD rained down FIRE & BRIMSTONE FROM THE LORD in HEAVEN …

… that means from HIS THRONE ROOM.

This was a SUPERNATURAL JUDGMENT upon SODOM.

But notice also that it says:

THE LORD RAINED DOWN FROM THE LORD …

That’s EVIDENCE for 2 of the 3 PERSONS of the GODHEAD.

If you remember back in GENESIS 18, the LORD JESUS …

… in His pre-incarnate form …

… had appeared to ABRAHAM & let him in on HIS PLANS …

… to destroy SODOM.

& Now it was the LORD, speaking of the LORD JESUS …

… who rained down FIRE …

… from GOD THE FATHER out of HEAVEN!

2 of 3 — & by implication – all 3 PERSONS of the GODHEAD were involved in the DESTRUCTION of SODOM.

& so this also a REFUTATION of the HERESY of MODALISM!

But then we get to LOT’S WIFE.

Genesis 19:26 says: ”But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”

As they were escaping for their lives …

… the FIRE of that JUDGMENT was so close behind …

… that even hesitating for a moment & looking back …

… was enough time to PULVERIZE THEM …

& looking back TOWARDS SODOM …

.. isn’t just speaking of PHYSICALLY TURNING …

… but MENTALLY LONGING FOR the COMFORTS of the WORLD …

… it’s possible that LOT’S WIFE was even BORN in SODOM …

… that it was HER HOME …

… & so as people living in the WORLD ourselves …

… we feel the TRAGIC SENSE OF LOSS that LOT’S WIFE must have FELT …

… but her LOVE FOR THE WORLD & unwillingness to turn away from it …

… COST HER HER LIFE!

JESUS SAYS in Luke 17:32: “Remember Lot’s Wife.”

This is a SHORT, 3-WORD VERSE in the BIBLE …

… which makes it MEMORABLE …

… like JESUS WEPT …

… or REJOICE EVERMORE ..

… or PRAY WITHOUT CEASING …

& in the next verse, Jesus said in Luke 17:33: “Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.”

It’s about being willing to GIVE UP EVERYTHING ….

… for GOD!

That’s what ABRAHAM DID …

… that was the DIFFERENCE between ABRAHAM & LOT …

… ABRAHAM left everything behind to follow GOD …

… & to be OBEDIENT to HIS WORD!

But LOT lived a CARNAL LIFE, even though he was saved …

… even though the BIBLE called him “RIGHTEOUS LOT” …

… even though the Bible says that he was: “VEXED w/ the FILTHY CONVERSATION of the WICKED”.

“CONVERSATION” in the KING JAMES BIBLE …

… doesn’t mean “VERBAL COMMUNICATION” the way that we think of that term …

… Biblically, the word, “CONVERSATION” means the way that one CONDUCTS their life.

& so LOT was VEXED w/ their FILTHY LIFESTYLE …

… & as SAVED CHRISTIANS who have the HOLY SPIRIT residing inside of us …

… we’re supposed to be VEXED …

… when we see the EVIL of SODOMY & TRANSGENDERISM being pushed in our culture & in our government!

Genesis 19:27-29 continues:
27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

So the BIBLE TELLS US that LOT was physical saved because ABRAHAM …

… had interceded for him.

Looking back @ the last chapter,

… We have a tendency to look @ that moment when ABRAHAM INTERCEDED on behalf of SODOM …

… & we think that his INTERCESSION was a FAILURE …

… because SODOM was DESTROYED!

BUT the fact is that ABRAHAM was not so much interceding on behalf of SODOM …

… as he was on behalf of his NEPHEW, LOT.

& GOD REMEMBERED ABRAHAM, the Bible says …

… & rescued LOT out of the plains …

… even though there were not 10 righteous, even within Lot’s own family!

Genesis 19 concludes w/ the BOOK-END & the FINAL CHAPTER in the STORY OF LOT:

We don’t hear from LOT anymore after this …

… except in NT references back to him.

Genesis 19:30-38 says:
30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

So LOT asked if he could live in the CITY of ZOAR …

… but when he got there, it must have reminded him so much of Sodom …

… that he was scared to dwell there.

And he ended up living out his last days in a CAVE …

31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
37 And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

& So the STORY of LOT ends w/ him giving birth …

… to the incestuously-conceived FUTURE ENEMIES of ISRAEL.

That’s LOT’S LEGACY.
Interestingly, RUTH was a MOABITES who converted to the GOD of ISRAEL …

… & RUTH & BOAZ were the GREAT-GRAND PARENTS of DAVID …

… through whom CHRIST came.

SO LOT truly is the PICTURE-PERFECT EXAMPLE …

… of a SAVED, but WASTED CHRISTIAN LIFE.

HIS CHASTISEMENT, HIS LACK OF ETERNAL REWARDS, the CONSEQUENCES of a FAILED LIFE …

… even affected his generations to come.

By contrast, we see that ABRAHAM, though sometimes struggling with doubt …

… & making poor decisions @ times …

… was overall, A FAITHFUL MAN OF GOD …

… who through GREAT FAITH becomes the FATHER of all those who BELIEVE.

Romans 4:16: “Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,”

& so the DESTRUCTION of SODOM itself becomes an EXAMPLE …

… to all future generations.

Jude 1:7 says: “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

That covers GENESIS 19.

But I’ll end w/ this:

CAN HOMOSEXUALS BE SAVED?

So last time I mentioned how if A SIN is LISTED IN THE LAW of GOD …

… then it can be CLEANSED by the BLOOD OF JESUS …

Romans 5:20 says: “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:”

So the BLOOD of JESUS has the POWER to FORGIVE ALL SINS.

& we also talked about WHOSOEVER …

… for GOD so LOVED the WORLD that WHOSOEVER believeth in HIM should not perish …

… but have everlasting life …

& for WHOSOEVER CALLS upon the NAME OF THE LORD shall be saved …

But those who TEACH the FALSE REPROBATE DOCTRINE …

… which teaches that some people have SINNED SO MUCH …

… & that their SINS are so GRIEVOUS …

… that although they COULD BE SAVED …

… that they have REFUSED the GOSPEL & hardened their HEARTS …

… to the point of UNBELIEF …

& so GOD has turned them over to their SINS & GIVEN UP ON THEM …

& that GOD HIMSELF has caused them now to be REPROBATE …

… But there’s at least 2 PROBLEMS w/ that:

(1) it’s CALVINISTIC …

… According to the REPROBATE DOCTRINE …

… God has already determined in this lifetime that that PERSON is not the ELECT …

… & therefore can’t be saved.

Whereas Hebrews 9:27 says that MAN will be JUDGED AFTER HE DIES, not before!

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

(2) It’s WORKS-BASED.

Because they’re ultimately saying that the DEGREE of CERTAIN SINS like homosexuality –

… are so horrendous …

… that it’s a “SURE SIGN” of REPROBACY …

… meaning that they’ve been given over to homosexuality because they’re rejected God

& they say that HOMOSEXUALITY is a SURE SIGN that a PERSON is REPROBATE …

… but that’s WORKS.

Because they’re judging now which SINS are too GRIEVOUS …

& they point to ROMANS 1 as their main passage:

Romans 1:26-28:
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

& They say: GOD GAVE THEM UP, GOD GAVE THEM OVER …

… like a MANTRA that they’re HAMMERING IN.

But does GOD GIVING THEM UP to their SINS mean that they hear the GOSPEL & change their mind & be saved?

Is that what this is saying?

Well for that they point to JEREMIAH 6 …

… but they only read 1 VERSE …

(and that’s the problem).

They go to Jeremiah 6:30, which says: “Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.”

& they say SEE, the LORD HAS REJECTED THEM!

& they cite the LAW OF 1ST MENTION …

But I’ve like EVERY other FALSE TEACHING that I’ve refuted …

… CONTEXT IS KING!

JEREMIAH 6 is written to GOD’S OWN PEOPLE …

… who have BACKSLIDDEN …

& JEREMIAH is prophesy that they will be taken into CAPTIVITY if they don’t REPENT!

THE REPROBATE TEACHERS teach that they can’t REPENT, they can’t TURN TO GOD …

… because GOD has REJECTED THEM!

But in CH. 7 of JEREMIAH … (in the next chapter) …

… GOD tells those same people that He just called REPROBATE SILVER …

… that they can REPENT & turn back to Him!

In Jeremiah 7:5-7 God says to His backslidden people:
5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

The ENTIRE CONTEXT of JEREMIAH 6 isn’t even about INDIVIDUAL SALVATION …

It’s about JUDGMENT on A NATION that was about to go into CAPTIVITY …

… The people of ISRAEL had become SO USELESS …

… that GOD had REJECTED THEM …

… & vomited them out of the land …

It was a REJECTION of their BLESSINGS & their PHYSICAL INHERITANCE as God’s People!

So when you read the CONTEXT, it’s all about REPENTANCE …

… it’s all about TURNING BACK TO GOD!

So that they could be RESTORED!

& this is the MAIN PASSAGE that they’ve got!

THEY HAVE ROMANS 1 …

… which says that HOMOSEXUALS are REPROBATE …

& then they go to JEREMIAH 6 to DEFINE what REPROBATE means …

… & they say that you can’t be SAVED …

… because GOD has REJECTED YOU.

& they just keep HAMMERING it in & HAMMERING it in …

… & GOD THEM UP & GOD GAVE THEM OVER & GOD THEM UP …

& their FOLLOWERS are a BUNCH OF NOVICES in the WORD …

… & many of them are BRAND-NEW SPANKING Believers …

… who’ve never READ the BOOK OF JEREMIAH!

& have no CLUE that it’s about JUDGMENT on GOD’S PEOPLE …

… for the PURPOSE of CHASTISEMENT, REPENTANCE, & RESTORATION!

It’s not saying that if you’re REJECTED, you can’t be saved! –

… Or that it’s a permanent rejection!

We’re all REJECTED before CHRIST!

Colossians 1:21 says: “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled”.

So Are HOMOSEXUALS REPROBATE? YES THEY ARE!

Just like MURDERERS, WHOREMONGERS, RAPISTS, CHILD MOLESTERS …

… they’re all REPROBATE …

they’re DEPRAVED …

… they’re VILE & FILTHY like STEVEN ANDERSON says.

But does being REPROBATE mean they can’t be SAVED?

Is that what REPROBATE MEANS?

NO … not according to JEREMIAH 6 & 7 …

& then they talk about GOD hardening PHARAOH’S HEART!

& they use that as an EXAMPLE of REPROBACY.

But again, MOSES didn’t preach PHARAOH the GOSPEL …

… He told him to LET HIS PEOPLE GO.

Again, the CONTEXT isn’t about SALVATION!

… but about letting GOD’S PEOPLE go …

… & Finally we have PASSAGES like 1 Corinthians 6.

… which clearly, from the natural use of language there …

… it says that HOMOSEXUALS got saved in the Corinthian church!

Which makes sense, because many Corinthians were involved in PAGAN ORGIES & HOMOSEXUALITY …

… it was a part of their false religion & temple worship …

… they had TEMPLE PROSTITUTES & whatnot …

& 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says:
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, [notice the progression of sins here, from effeminate to] nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

[So basically, NO ONE CAN GO INTO HEAVEN, is what this is SAYING …

… & even if you’re REALLY GOOD & Revelation 21 has a similar list, but it also includes LYING …

… just to make sure that EVERY MOUTH MY BE STOPPED & ALL THE WORLD COME GUILTY BEFORE GOD …]

But v. 11:
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Now the REPROBATE TEACHERS …

Take that phrase, “ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND” …

… which obviously to the REASONABLE MIND means HOMOSEXUAL …

… (to the PERSON w/out an AGENDA) …

… Before I EVER HEARD OF THE REPROBATE TEACHING …

… for 20 YEARS I read that VERSE …

… & it was OBVIOUS what it was talking about …

… & then about a YEAR of STEVEN ANDERSON …

… & I BEGIN TO CHANGE MY MIND …

… WHY?

Because he can be VERY PERSUASIVE …

… he can be a VERY GOOD PREACHER …

But this is his GREATEST ERROR.

& FALSE TEACHING begets MORE FALSE TEACHING & WICKEDNESS …

… so in comes the RAILING & in comes the HATRED …

… & in come the LIES …

& they start to CHANGE the NATURAL READING of “ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND” to something else.

For example, they say it means, “WHORES or WHOREMONGERS” or people who have been ABUSED.

Well, people “who have been ABUSED” don’t ABUSE THEMSELVES w/ MANKIND …

& it can’t mean WHORES or WHOREMONGERS because WHOREDOME is already listed.

Look @ 1 Timothy 1:9-10:
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind,

So these are 2 separate things.

If ABUSERS or DEFILERS of themselves with MANKIND meant WHORES or WHOREMONGERS …

… this would be a REDUNDANT SENTENCE.

… & why wouldn’t it just say WHORES or WHOREMONGERS, because we have those KJV Words already …

But obviously it’s a phrase for SODOMITES or HOMOSEXUALS.

… EVEN the GENEVA BIBLE of 1599 …

which pre-dated the KING JAMES …

… & which is a TEXTUS RECEPTUS BIBLE …

… translated from the WORKS OF ERASMUS …

… in a GOOD LINE of ENGLISH / MAJORITY TEXT BIBLES …

… uses the WORD, “BUGGERERS” where the King James uses “ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES w/ MANKIND” …

& “BUGGERERS” is an OLD ENGLISH WORD in use in the 1500s …

… which meant “HOMOSEXUALS”.

… NOW, ANDERSONITES accuse me of not being KJV-ONLY …

… because I REFERENCE the GENEVA BIBLE …

… & because it goes against their PET TEACHING …

… is because the BIBLE is a PATRIARCHAL BOOK …

… when it speaks in generalities, it’s written from the MALE PERSPECTIVE …

… & the word MANKIND doesn’t mean HUMANKIND …

… as in ALL HUMANITY …

MANKIND in the BIBLE means MEN …

… & we know that because the BIBLE distinguishes from WOMANKIND & MANKIND.

WOMANKIND refers to WOMEN & MANKIND refers to MEN.

The 1ST TIME “MANKIND” & “WOMANKIND” appears in the Bible is actually in Leviticus 18:22: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

So there’s a distinction made between MANKIND (MEN) & WOMENKIND (WOMEN) …

… So ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND …

… literally means ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MEN (MALES) …

… & since the Bible is written from a PATRIARCHAL perspective …

… it’s basically saying MEN who ABUSE THEMSELVES with MEN …

…. homosexuals, buggerers, sodomites, whatever you want to call it.

It’s clear.

& that concludes GENESIS 19 …

… & we’ll pick up in GENESIS 20 next week …

But I’ll just say that YES, HOMOSEXUALITY is A MAJOR SIN …

… it’s an ABOMINATION, it’s DIGUSTING … it’s VILE, it’s FILTHY …

… it should be ILLEGAL …

… though @ the same time, we can’t CHANGE THE GOSPEL of GRACE TO ALL SINNERS …

… It’s a PERVERSION of the GOSPEL & MAJOR HERESY on a FUNDAMENTAL LEVEL to LIMIT JESUS’ ATONEMENT …

… to ANY GROUP OF SINNERS.
