Can the proverbial “tribesman” in Africa or the Amazon jungle get saved without hearing the Gospel? What if no Christian missionary was ever sent? We answer this difficult-to-answer question from the Bible.

Everyone asks if the remote tribesman can get saved, without ever hearing about Jesus or the Bible. The answer is, No, because faith on Jesus is the only way to heaven (Jn 14:6; Act 4:12). If a person dies without hearing about the Bible or Jesus, they’ll perish, because all have sinned, and all deserve the punishment of hell for their sins (“For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law …” -Ro 2:12). And that’s why Jesus commands Christians to preach the gospel “to all the world” and “to every creature” (Mk 16:15).
