ANOTHER JESUS
We’re always defending the doctrine of eternal security, once saved always saved …
… but I don’t want anyone to have a FALSE SENSE of SECURITY …
… because there is NO ETERNAL SECURITY for those who have a FALSE GOSPEL …
… or those who believe in ANOTHER JESUS.
So it’s really important to check your Gospel …
… to examine your doctrine …
… & to make sure that your beliefs line up with the GOSPEL that the Bible teaches.
Paul, the apostle, says in 2 Corinthians 11:2-4:
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
So Paul uses the analogy of a BRIDE being espoused to ONE Husband …
… the bride here being BELIEVERS & the CHURCH, the bride of Christ, pictured as a chaste virgin …
& Paul says he has a GODLY JEALOUSY over them …
What Paul means is that there is only ONE OBJECT of WORSHIP …
… & only ONE GOD … ONE GOSPEL … ONE JESUS CHRIST …
… & that we are to be FAITHFUL to Him alone.
There’s only ONE TRUE GOSPEL …
& That if we seek ANOTHER GOSPEL or ANOTHER ANOTHER JESUS …
… that it would be like SPIRITUAL ADULTERY or INFIDELITY.
Paul then mentions the SIMPLICITY that is in Christ.
He’s talking about the simple, pure, crystal-clear Gospel that even a child can understand.
THE GOSPEL is not meant to be complicated.
You don’t need a 2-hour dissertation to explain it.
God became flesh in the Persons of Jesus Christ …
… was begotten of the Holy Spirit …
… & He took our sins upon Himself on the cross …
… died & was buried …
… & was resurrected on the third day …
… & by FAITH he becomes OUR SUBSTITUTE @ the JUDGMENT.
Jesus said in John 11:25-26:
25 … I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
The Gospel is that simple, it’s about receiving Jesus as your Savior, by faith.
You don’t need a 2-hour dissertation to explain the Gospel.
But you do need to be sure you are trusting in the BIBLICAL JESUS …
… & not the JESUS OF FALSE RELIGION.
PAUL COMPARES being swayed into a false version of the Gospel …
… to EVE being deceived by the SERPENT before the Fall.
He says: “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
Satan corrupts minds through SUBTLETY & CRAFTINESS …
He’s very good at TRANSFORMING HIMSELF into an ANGEL OF LIGHT …
& using every deception at his disposal to trick Christians into straying into heresy …
… & giving NON-BELIEVERS a false security in a counterfeit JESUS & Christianity.
In Galatians 1:6-7 says, Paul says:
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
So the phrase, “another Gospel” appears again in one of Paul’s other epistles.
& we see that “ANOTHER GOSPEL” is defined as being “REMOVED” from the “GRACE OF CHRIST” …
… unto another gospel …
And that this is called “perversion” of the Gospel of Christ.
So in this way, the Bible defines what “ANOTHER GOSPEL” is …
… as turning from the GRACE we have in Christ unto WORKS …
… so we see that ANY GOSPEL that is NOT the GOSPEL of FREE GRACE (salvation by faith alone) is ANOTHER GOSPEL.
It doesn’t have to be the obvious counterfeits, like the MORMON JESUS Or the Jesus of the NEW AGE movement …
… but just simply veering away from the GRACE that we have in Christ …
… is veering away from the true Christian faith.
& THERE ARE MANY FALSE RELIGIONS that preach ANOTHER JESUS.
MORMONS PREACH ANOTHER JESUS.
MORMONS BELIEVE that Jesus is the spirit brother of Satan …
… & that God the Father was once human, just like us…
… & that God worked his way to becoming “A god”.
Mormons do not believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God …
…, but that He is merely one of many “gods” (they’re polytheistic believing in millions or billions of gods) …
… & that we too, can become gods, just like Jesus … & populate our own planets …
… through polygamous pro-creation.
… And they say we can do this by tithing & being obedient to the church …
& doing “TEMPLE WORK” & proselytizing …
MORMONISM is an OBVIOUS EXAMPLE of believing in ANOTHER JESUS.
JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES are another example.
Jehovah’s False Witnesses believe that God created Jesus …
… & that Jesus is actually the archangel Michael.
So they believe that JESUS is a CREATED BEING.
They even have their own corrupt Bible version …
… called the NEW WORLD TRANSLATION …
… where they change the Gospel of John Chapter 1 to say that the WORD is “A GOD”, not “GOD”.
They add the participle, “a” to diminish His Godhead.
They even deny the Trinity & the Holy Spirit as one of the persons of the Godhead.
… but consider the Holy Spirit to be a kind of “FORCE” emanating from God the Father.
Jehovah’s False Witnesses believe in ANOTHER JESUS & in ANOTHER GOSPEL.
Again, they are an example of an OBVIOUS COUNTERFEIT.
The HEBREW ROOTS MOVEMENT, perhaps slightly more subtle …
… preaches ANOTHER NAME, ANOTHER JESUS, & ANOTHER GOSPEL.
I believe that the whole “YESHUA” thing is another entity, and not the Jesus of the Bible.
They believe in “Yaweh” and “Yeshua” instead of “Jehovah” & “Jesus” …
& you might think it’s just semantics …
… butthese Hebrew-sounding names are ways to get their foot in the door to preach “ANOTHER GOSPEL”.
Those who call themselves, “TORAH OBSERVANT” or HEBREW ROOTS …
… do not preach the Gospel of FREE GRACE …
… but rather adherence to the LEVITICAL, MOSAIC Law …
… instead of new covenant grace, “LAW OF LIBERTY” or the “ROYAL LAW” that we talked about last week.
& it’s amazing & frightening to see their HERETICAL VIEWS forming before our very eyes.
Because they don’t have a lot of COHERENT, SYSTEMATIC views yet …
… there’s a lot of DIVERGENCE within that movement …
… because it’s all just coming together …
… but they teach for example, that there is only ONE COVENANT, not an old and a new covenant …
BUT THAT we’re under the same covenant as MOSES …
… but that it’s just going to be RENEWED as the same covenant once Jesus returns.
So they DENY THE EXISTENCE of NEW COVENANT.
& of course they go back to their false interpretation of the Hebrew & Greek to make their case …
… because they can’t prove it from an existing English Bible.
They say that the MOSAIC COVENANT won’t be RENEWED until Jesus returns …
& they use JEREMIAH 31:31 to teach that salvation & the new covenant was to the house of Israel & Judah.
And so we have to come into covenant with that, and become Israel & Judah in order to be saved …
… & follow all of the old Mosaic ordinances, aside with the ones that have to do with the Temple …
… since the temple is no longer here …
… otherwise they would be doing those things too, like sacrificing animals …
Jeremiah 31:31: “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:”
And so that’s what they use, but we know the promise of the New Covenant was established the moment Jesus shed His blood at Calvary …
… And that we are now under the new covenant, receiving by faith the spiritual blessings ….
… which were promised to Abraham & the house of Israel …
… because the Jews rejected it.
AND SO WHO ARE THEY WAITING FOR?
And so they’re awaiting the RETURN of ANOTHER JESUS …
… who will come & establish the OLD COVENANT LAWS.
THIS ALSO ALIGNS with the JEWS’ expectation that the MESSIAH will RETURN at the end of the world …
… But the JEWS deny JESUS & are awaiting a FAKE JESUS …
… which is ultimately the ANTI-CHRIST.
ALL THE MAJOR RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD are awaiting ANOTHER JESUS …
… they’re awaiting the rise of the ANTI-CHRIST …
… that’s why we see a push towards ECUMENACLISM …
… by the POPE, by people like RICK WARREN …
… by parts of mainstream Christianity … and NEW AGE religion ….
EVEN ISLAM IS WAITING FOR THE RETURN OF JESUS …
… they believe that Jesus will return at the End of the World …
… with another figure called the IMAM MAHDI which is superior to Jesus …
… as the leader of Islam …
And so they, too, are AWAITING ANOTHER JESUS.
& the FALSE EXPECTATION of all these FALSE RELIGIONS …
… are going to be realized with the rise of the ANTI-CHRIST …
… who is the FINAL CULMINATION of believing in ANOTHER JESUS …
… he’s the ultimate COUNTERFEIT CHRIST …
… which all of these FAKE JESUS’ are leading to …
Speaking of the MAN OF SIN, THE SON OF PERDITION,
2 Thessalonians 2:4 says: “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
ISLAM also denies that Jesus died for our sins …
… or that He is the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of God …
When you talk to a Muslim, they say that they LOVE Jesus …
… & that the Q’URAN says that He was the GREATEST PROPHET …
… but they deny that JESUS was BEGOTTEN …
… or that He DIED on the Cross …
… & believe that God took Him prior to His death …
… similar to the way in which He took ENOCH and ELIJAH … without dying …
So they DENY the DEATH, BURIAL, & RESURRECTON of CHRIST.
ISLAM is again another OBVIOUS EXAMPLE of preaching ANOTHER JESUS.
DISPENSATIONALISTS also preach another version of the GOSPEL …
But they too are SUBLTE in the way they do it …
… they’re not as obviously wrong as a MUSLIM or a MORMON.
Dispensationalists use 2 Timothy 2:15 to make ARTIFICIAL DIVISIONS in the Word of God, which says:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
& they claim that “RIGHTLY DIVIDING” means to literally split the Bible up into various DIVISIONS …
To literally DIVIDE the WORD into different SECTIONS …
… & these are what they call DISPENSATIONS.
Now, I agree there’s a division between the OLD & the NEW testament, and we are living under the NEW COVENANT.
But MAJOR ERROR comes when they make a DIVISION …
… between what JESUS preached & what PAUL preached ….
They say that Paul & Jesus preached 2 DIFFERENT Gospels.
They say Jesus preached the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM to the Jews …
… & that Paul preached the Gospel of grace to everyone else.
& that we are now under Paul’s gospel.
One popular dispensational preacher recently said: “We are saved through Paul”.
Now I believe he meant that we’re saved by the Gospel that Paul was preaching …
… but it’s still pretty damning …
They get this from Galatians 2:7: “But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;”
But the Bible teaches there is only 1 GOSPEL.
Paul explained & preached Jesus’ gospel, because they were one in the same: Jesus Christ crucified & risen.
It’s the same Gospel that we preach today.
Paul was commissioned with the focus of his ministry predominantly to the gentiles …
… while Peter & James were commissioned to preach the Gospel of Christ to Jews.
But both were the Gospel of Christ.
It doesn’t mean they preached two gospels.
Ephesians 4:4-6:
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
1 Corinthians 1:12-13:
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
Paul even preached to the Jews.
1 Corinthians 9:20-23:
20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
They even claim that the Jews were saved by works along w/ faith …
… & that they had to be baptized to be saved when Jesus was here.
But why would God require works for one group and grace for another?
Dispensationalism doesn’t make sense & is serious error.
& BTW: RIGHTLY DIVIDING doesn’t mean to make divisions in the Gospel …
… but to analyze/dissect/correctly interpret the Bible.
That’s what it means to RIGHTLY DIVIDE …
It means to understand and interpret rightly.
The very foundation for their heresy is being wrongly divided.
• Interestingly, getting back to ISLAM & Mormonism for a minute …
Both their founders claim to have received revelations through angels.
Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, claims to have received doctrine from the Angel “Moroni”.
& Muhammed, the founder of Islam, claims to have had the Q’uran dictated to him by an angel in a cave.
Both men also practiced polygamy …
… Muhammed was a pedophile prophet who married a 6-year old girl named Aisha …
… & consummated his marriage with her at the age of 9!
Jospeh Smith had as many as 40 wives, including some who were already married …
… and several who were as young as 14.
Remember, both these men claimed to have received SPECIAL REVELATION from AN ANGEL.
But Paul says in Galatians 1:8-9:
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
The Bible uses HARSH LANGUAGE to describe FALSE TEACHERS.
The BIBLE calls them: accursed (in Galatians 1) …
… “FALSE APOSTLES” & “DECEITFUL WORKERS” in 2 Corinthians 11:13) …
& Satan’s ministers in 2 Corinthians 11:15.
Jesus calls them: “false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” in Matthew 7:15..
… Jude calls them “spots in your feasts of charity”, “clouds without water, carried about by winds”, “trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit”, & “twice dead” in Jude 1:12.
Further down in 2 Corinthians 11, the same chapter where Paul mentions “ANOTHER JESUS” & “ANOTHER GOSPEL”, he says …
1 Corinthians 11:13-15:
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Just as there are FAKE JESUS’ & FAKE GOSPELS …
… there are FAKE PREACHERS & teachers who masquerade as Christian ministers.
They sound like Christians, they talk like Christians …
…they use Biblical language, they even use the KJV …
… but they’re Satan’s ministers who have been TRANSFORMED …
… into the APPEARANCE of ANGELS OF LIGHT …
…who preach ANOTHER GOSPEL.
& Notice that the Bible says that they will be JUDGED ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.
“… whose end shall be according to their works.”
They preach works, & so they will be judged by their works.
… but we will receive CHRIST’S RIGHTEOUSNESS imputed unto us.
Again, we see that ANY DEVIATION from the FREE GRACE GOSPEL of CHRIST is ANOTHER GOSPEL.
It’s EASY to see through MORMONISM …
… & other false religions that I didn’t mention, like ROMAN CATHOLICISM …
ROMAN CATHOLICS also preach another Jesus …
… because they preach a Jesus that requires works for salvation …
They also preach a Gospel that makes MARY the CO-MEDIATRIX with Christ …
(diminishing Christ’s authority & power to save).
They believe that MARY takes part in the SALVIFIC process …
… by mediating on our behalf WITH JESUS.
But the Bible says: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” in 1 Timothy 2:5.
Even ATHEISM has “ANOTHER JESUS”.
They believe in the HISTORICAL JESUS or the good philosopher Jesus …
… & they deny that He is God.
But 1 John 4:3 says: “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”
The spirit of Anti-Christ was there during Paul’s time, working through false teachers …
… and it is here today too.
And one day, the anti-Christ will come in the embodiment of a man.
He will be the final culmination of “ANOTHER JESUS”.
1 John 5:10:12:
10 John He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Those who DENY the ESSENTIALS of the FAITH are preaching ANOTHER JESUS.
… such as that Jesus came in the flesh …
… meaning that He is BEGOTTEN OF GOD …
… as the INCARNATION of GOD …
… that HE IS GOD …
(if you deny that, you’re believing in ANOTHER JESUS) …
… your Jesus has no POWER TO SAVE.
THAT’S WHY it’s important to understand the FUNDAMENTALS of the FAITH …
You don’t have to study every FALSE RELIGION that’s out there …
… to know that it’s FALSE …
… but if you know the ESSENTIALS OF THE FAITH …
… when someone preaches a false gospel, it will jump out at you.
And be very clear that what they’re preaching if FALSE.
& the Bible calls the ESSENTIALS & the FUNDAMENTALS …
… the DOCTRINE OF CHRIST.
2 John 1:7-9:
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
So understanding BASICS of the TRUE GOSPEL is all you really need to combat heresy.
These include the basics: God becoming flesh in the Person of Jesus Christ …
… Christ dying for our sins, being buried, and resurrecting on the 3rd day.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says:
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
This is the MILK OF THE WORD. It’s the BASICS.
The Apostle John says in 2 John 1:10-11:
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
So if we encounter a DECEIVER or an ANTI-CHRIST or a FALSE TEACHER …
… we are not to put up with him & patiently endure through his false teachings.
We are not to let them into our house, our churches, or our inner circles.
And that’s what I believe Paul meant when he said not to let them into your house …
… he was talking about not only our homes, but our churches …
… because the early churches met in houses.
• FALSE TEACHERS are DANGEROUS …
… because they CORRUPT CHURCHES & DOCTRINE.
That’s why Paul says LET THEM BE ACCURSED!
The GOSPEL that they preach, which is one of works, DOES ACCURSE THEM.
• But we have to be careful in that there is a difference between the DECEIVER & the DECEIVED.
Paul says to reject heretics after 1 or 2 admonitions in Titus 3.
But when it comes to the deceived …
… we are to admonish them in the love of Christ …
… in hopes of bringing them back to the truth of the Gospel.
Remember, the GALATIANS were subverted … they had started to believe in ANOTHER GOSPEL …
… even after they were saved.
Again, Paul said to them in Galatians 1:6-7:

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
So any perversion from the REAL GOSPEL becomes ANOTHER GOSPEL.
& Christians can be deceived into believing another gospel, at least for a time.
That’s why we have to guard against & to be severe with FALSE TEACHERS.
In Galatians 3:1-7, Paul says:
1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
THE MOST SUBLTE HERETIC is the “Christian” one.
The one that sounds like a Christian, uses Christian terminology …
… & even says that “SALVATION IS BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH” …
… but speaks out of two sides of his mouth …
& brings in a HIDDEN WORKS agenda.
Some are DECEIVED, some are DECEIVERS …
We have to discern the difference & respond appropriately.
1 John 4:1: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
